Unearthed: Last Chance Mine

The stones that started it all. 

This collection began with a rockhounding trip to the Last Chance Mine in Creede, Colorado.

The stones used in these pieces were discovered on that trip — Sowbelly Agate Amethyst hidden in the mine, waiting to be revealed. What began as rough stones unearthed from the mine were later cut, shaped, polished, and set into silver by hand.

This collection represents more than jewelry. It marks the moment my creative path changed — when searching for stones in the wild helped me rediscover excitement, curiosity, and joy again.

The mine itself carries a fitting story of discovery. In 1891, a prospector named Theodore Renninger was preparing to leave Creede after months of searching without success. On what he believed would be his final trip up the canyon — his “last chance” — he discovered the amethyst and silver vein that gave the mine its name.

Every piece in this collection carries that spirit of discovery.
